Tongass National Forest
Spread across Alaska's Southeast Panhandle, the Tongass National Forest is a varied landscape of islands, fjords, glaciers, estuaries and caves. It is the largest protected temperate rain forest in the world and provides habitat for Sitka black-tailed deer, black and brown bears, bald eagles, salmon and other wildlife.
