This view from Eielson depicts the changing seasons, from the last hint of winter through spring, summer, and fall, to the beginnings of winter. Sun, plants, animals, and migratory birds increase in a crescendo, then decrease with a rapidly approaching winter. This photograph depicts the stunning quilt created by local Denali artist Ree Nancarrow out of cotton fabric, dyed, painted, stamped, silkscreened, and stenciled. The original hangs in the Eielson Visitor Center. Proceeds from the Alaska Geographic Park Store were used to commission the art quilt for the National Park Service.
