Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve

Three hundred years ago, the Tlingits watched as advancing glaciers overtook their homeland. Since then, we have witnessed a rapid glacial retreat and the return of life to a freshly scoured landscape. Glacier Bay, established as a National Park and Preserve in 1980, now offers an opportunity to explore this emerging land and to observe the advance of life as once we watched the advance of ice.
