Harriet ‘Ma’ Pullen was an entrepreneur, horse team driver, hotelier, suffragist, mother, and wife. In 1897 she came to Skagway with $7 to her name; from these humble beginnings she became one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Alaska history. She even hosted Warren G. Harding, President of the United States, at her hotel in 1923.
